A normal progesterone level is one thing that you should know when you trying to conceive because Progesterone is very important for women who are undergoing fertility program or during pregnancy.
Because by looking at levels of progesterone, you know you're pregnant or not, you are deficient in progesterone levels or not.
So, it is important to know the normal progesterone levels.
If you do a blood test, or on medical advice, then you will get a lab report on the results of your progesterone levels. But maybe this will make you confused if you do not know how to read. So, I will give a little explain about how to read the level of progesterone. This does not mean that I am ahead of your doctor's advice, but only a few provide insight to you about this. And this is from my experiences during my TTC.

Generally, the results of the progesterone level is written like this :
Normal value :
Follicular Phase : 0.25 - 0.54 ng/ml
Luteal Phase : 1.5 - 20 ng/ml
Ovulation : 0.25 - 6.22 ng/ml
Menopause : < 0.41 ng/ml
The meaning :
1. Follicular Phase : 0.25 - 0.54 ng/ml
It means, that there are levels of progesterone during the follicular phase is 0.25 to 0.54 ng/ml. Follicular phase is the period in which the ovaries were producing follicle, between days 7 - 12 counted from the first day menstruation. And this is the normal levels for follicular phase.
2. Ovulation : 0.25 - 6.22 ng/ml
Ovulation is period in which the ovary release an egg, so called ovulation. Ovulation occurs between days 12 - 16 counted from the first day of menstruation (normal cycle). And this is the normal levels for ovulation.
3. Luteal Phase : 1.5 - 20 ng/ml
The Luteal phase is the period in which after the ovary release an egg (after ovulation). So, at this time, progesterone levels will rise to prepare for pregnancy. Luteal phase occurs between days 14 - 28 counted from the first-day menstruation (normal cycle). And this is the normal levels for follicular phase. But if at this time your progesterone level more than 20 ng/ml, then there is an indication has occured fertilization, and you could be a little hope about pregnancy. But if the level progesterone falls to 0.2 or below, it means your menstrual period is coming soon.
4. Menopause : < 0.41 ng/ml
Menopause is a period where a woman has no longer menstruating or have infrequent menstruation. Menopause usually occurs beginning at women aged between 45-50 years, although some women aged 50 years still can go through pregnancy. And this is the normal levels of progesterone for menopause.
But you must remember that the menstrual cycle each person is different. And you can ask your doctor for more information, and when you should check your progesterone level.
